Monday, April 15: SAE International and MI Innovation Alliance invite you to join us on  Monday. April 15 for the 16th Annual Global Automotive & Mobility Innovation Challenge (GAMIC) Finals in Detroit, Michigan. GAMIC, is an annual competition for early-stage automotive products/ systems and mobility companies with new and innovative technologies.

Ride and Drive

Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm, Thursday, 9:00 am– 2:00 pm

Attendees at the WCX 2024 will be able to see and participate in an EV Ride and Drive and simulation of the SAE J3300 driver certification test. This experience is open to all WCX registrants. 
Featured vehicles may include:  Kia EV 9, Lucid Air, Rivian R1T, Polestar 2, Tesla Model Y, BMW I7, Mercedes Benz EQS, Rivian SUV,  Rivian R1S,  and other models from Audi, Fisker, Ford, General Motors, Nissan, Stellantis, Toyota and Volkswagen.
 

Vehicles provided by LaFontaine Auto Group 

Note:  Valid drivers license will need to be presented to qualify to drive on certain tracks.   Vehicle access will be provided on a first come, first serves basis.

This year is a watershed year for GM’s HYDROTEC fuel cell program – the company has recently signed joint development agreements with Autocar and Komatsu to put its fuel cell propulsion systems into semitrucks, municipal vehicles and even giant mining trucks. The company also announced the start of production at its fuel cell joint venture with Honda, Fuel Cell Systems Manufacturing, LLC. Come learn about GM’s durable, affordable and efficient HYDROTEC power cubes, other fuel cell projects in development, and how they will shape the future of transportation

Register for this post-WCX tour for a first-hand look at 12+ EVs, from global regions, benchmarked and torn down to the component level. Participants can expect a tour of the facility, with the insights and philosophies required in the move to electrification being showcased within part displays on the show floor.
